A new reproduction made exclusively for Ostfront Militaria. This is a excellent reproduction of the rare sight cover used on the rear site of Mauser 98k rifles. This is referenced as being a sniper accessory in a few reference books including Volume 3 of Uniforms and Traditions of the German Army by Angolia, Page 298. This is a high quality reproduction patterned right off an original I was able to purchase 2 years ago from a private collection. It is made from natural brown leather and has steel hardware. It is marked with a correct reproduction date, 3 letter code and reproduction waffenampt. The numbers on the waffenampt correspond exactly to this 3 letter code and the date. This is a fantastic accessory for the 98K collector, WW2 living historian, or German WW2 collector. This is not one of the reproductions being sold as ORIGINAL that are coming from Europe.
