A new reproduction made exclusively for Ostfront Militaria. This is an excellent reproduction of the rare sight cover used on the rear site of Mauser 98k rifles. This is referenced as being a sniper accessory in a few collector's books including Volume 3 of Uniforms and Traditions of the German Army by Angolia, Page 298. This is a high quality reproduction patterned right off an original I was able to purchase 2 years ago from a private collection. It is made from natural brown leather and has steel hardware. These are correctly marked with SS Runes only, no maker's code or date. This is a fantastic accessory for the 98K collector, WW2 living historian, or German WW2 collector. This is not one of the reproductions being sold as ORIGINAL that are coming from Europe.
