Rare German WW2 Message Capsule with Parachute

Product Code: GOEQ-00077 Price: Check Latest RARE original German WW2 Signal Message Container. These were filled with documents, maps or other papers and communications and then dropped to land units by air. One end of the container safely held the documents and the other end acted as a smoke grenade making it easy for the units on the ground to locate the container once it landed on the ground. This particular example is battlfield recovered and has been deployed (the damage in the smoke vent holes in the center are consistent with the damage caused by deploying the smoke charge), also the pull fuze has been engaged and the cap was pulled off. These took the standard BZE 39 pull fuze with the red cap for instant activation. It is obviously inert and safe and legal to own, ship, etc. etc.... It retains a good portion of the original paint and the message container seems to be still air tight once the cap is tighted on. I am not sure that parachutes were used on these but this is how this one came from the collection it was purchased from. It was hung from the ceiling from the top of the parachute for a dramatic effect. It would make sense that a parachute could be used on these to break the fall and it would depend on many things. Regardless the container is 100% original and a nice display item. It comes with two copies from a German WW2 ordinance collectors book detailing this very item. It measures 14 1/2" long not inc fuze and 2 1/4" diameter.
