WW2 Russian Manual
Very RARE Russian WW2 Chemical/ gas detection pumps. We recieved one of these that is missing the front cover (see the reference photo #1 which shows the ones with the cover) This one also has a broken rubber retaining line in the inside which was used to hold the glass vials in place. Its still in overall good condition and is a good display item. These were a part of the Gas defense units basic kit and were used to detect the presence of chemical agents in the air. The backside of case would hold different glass vials that would be inserted into its appropriate position in the front and then air would be drawn through the tube via the built in hand pump. A change in color of the test tube would indicate a positive for different chemical agents. These are the first of their kind we have ever seen and they came from stocks of a para military unit in the Ex-USSR. They were only 7 found and we were able to get our hands on 4. These are in good shape showing corrosion in a few places but nothing bad. A one of a kind item for any Russian WW2 collection. See the photo above from a Russian WW2 manual showing this exact item. They measure 4 1/2 x 3 5/8" x 2". The price is for one (1).
