Thank you visiting the Ostfront website and for taking the time to read about Ostfront and its operation. This introduction is quite long and I apologize if its too long, but if your really interested in knowing more about us, this is the place to do that.

OSTFRONT is an American owned and operated business that sells both original militaria and top quality reproductions for reenactors and collectors around the world. We chose the name o s t f r o n t because we primarily deal with WWII German and Russian military collectibles from the Eastern Front of 1941-1945. With a few  very rare exceptions, ALL of the items we sell or offer for sale are located in the USA. You don't have to worry about sending your money overseas and wondering if the item will arrive or how you will handle something if your item never arrives. We are not a brand new company with a fancy name. We have been selling on the internet for 4 years and have previously been dealing with Russian and German WW2 Militaria for over 9 years. We have a lot of combined historical, militaria knowledge and experience. Ostfront deals directly with various dealers, museums and officials in Europe, Russia, Scandinavia and the Baltics. Since the introduction of our website in August of 2000, there have been many copycats and imitators that have suddenly appeared on the web. They even cut and paste our item descriptions, and other text from our website, as they lack the creativity, honesty or fluency in English to do a good job. Some of them are honest, and frankly, many of them are not. Many of them do not take this business as seriously or with the same honest approach that we do. Regardless, Ostfront seems to have initiated a recent trend in combining traditional militaria with battlefield relics.

In addition to our website, we sell a lot of unique militaria items on Ebay. We also offer a lot of nice items that will never appear on our website or on Ebay. These are quickly sold to collectors with particular interests. If you are looking for or are interested in something particular let us know. We will do our best to help you. In the past 4 years we have assisted many collectors find very specific and unique militaria items.

Our Mission of Honesty in the Militaria Business.
Ostfront has an excellent reputation for selling honest original WW2 militaria and well researched and high quality reproductions. We always clearly identify which of our items are Original WW2, reproduction, or postwar but similar to WW2. We are continually informing collectors of the current ways in which items are being altered to sold as original WW2 production and any of the fakes, that we know are being produced. We do this on our website, emails, in person, and at collectors shows. We were given an award at the MAX Show in September 2001 for our exhibition that exposed a large variety of fakes being made in several Ex-USSR countries. After this display we received numerous thank you letters from collectors and also "hate-mail" from those who were selling the stuff as real. We are aware of many of the fakes being produced in Eastern Europe and we try to stay away from commonly faked items like medals, badges, insignia, SS Crusher Caps, etc... Of course we all get taken sometimes by the fakes, but that is why we avoid questionable items and questionable dealers that others working in the same regions do not.

Many people ask us :
"Why don't you offer some of the other "great" items that other dealers working in the same regions and areas turn up on a regular basis.." (ie, SS M43 caps, Uniforms, Black Panzer Uniforms, and virtually endless supplies of SS Peaked caps, etc.)

Our answer is simple :
"We could get the same great items but more likely than not, they are fake and we pass on them..."

We only buy items that we feel comfortable about ourselves. If we do not feel good about an item, then we pass on it. We may, as a result, sometimes pass on a real item, but we also sleep well at night... We don't offer a seemingly bottomless supply of German dogtags from all the famous and popular German Waffen SS and Elite formations because the ones we see for sale are fake!!! There have been large quantities of original but unmarked German WW2 dogtags recovered in the east that have been "magically" transformed into Waffen SS tags, etc.

Our Reputation
Ostfront has a solid honest reputation. Check our Ebay feedback (user: sturmpnr). Not only will you find positive comments. You might notice that there are many militaria collectors that have been long term and frequent customers. In fact, you will see that much of our feedback is not only “positive” but very complimentary. We have almost double the number of feedbacks compared to our total Ebay "feedback score", which means we have many repeat customers. While speaking about Ebay, We would like to state that we do not have any relationship, partnership, or share any type of association with the Ebay user that goes by the name: “Ostfront”. The “Ostfront” Ebay user operates out of Estonia, which is also an area in which we conduct business. This user took the Ostfront ebay user name shortly after we started our website back in 2000, before we could reserve that name for ourselves. Our one and only Ebay user name is “STURMPNR”

Of course, we are not claiming to be the only reputable dealer of militaria, and there are many dealers that get some really great original items. Our comments are not statements of dealer jealousy, or envy, but rather a candid expression of our thoughts based on our experiences and observations gathered while dealing with militaria in Europe. We hope that this will remind collectors to think about items before you buy them, as well as the dealers who sell them. Think about those dealers who can always supply you with the rarest of items, whatever you are looking for, and whenever you want it..... We stands behind all the items we sell and offer a generous 7 day inspection period. We also give our guarantee that the item is original WWII production.
